They are the most representative surviving expressions of the Indigenous tradition now referred to as the Hopewell culture. Their scale and complexity are evidenced in precise geometric figures as well as hilltops sculpted to enclose vast, level plazas. There are alignments with the cycles of the Sun and the far more complex cycles of the Moon. These earthworks served as ceremonial centres and the sites have yielded finely crafted ritual objects fashioned from exotic raw materials obtained from distant places. 文化遗产 国别美国 United States of America 中文名称霍普韦尔仪式用土方工程 英文名称Hopewell Ceremonial Earthworks 遗产类别文化遗产 登录年份2023 选入标准(i)(iii) 遗产分布 遗产分布范围: 1689-001 Octagon Earthworks 1689-002 Great Circle Earthworks 1689-003 Hopeton Earthworks 1689-004 Mound City 1689-005 High Bank Works 1689-006 Hopewell Mound Group 1689-007 Seip Earthworks 1689-008 Fort Ancient 遗产地图 遗产详细介绍 遗产图片 遗产邮票 发行国家/地区:美国 United States of America 欧洲和北美洲/美国/霍普韦尔仪式用土方工程.txt 最后更改: 13月前由 127.0.0.1 登录
